Omaxe Shares Rally 20% After Company Announces Massive Hospitality Expansion

Omaxe shares witnessed a sharp rally on Monday after the real estate company announced its entry into the hospitality business with a massive investment roadmap of ₹6,200 crore.

The stock surged nearly 20% during intraday trade and touched ₹92.97 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), making it one of the top-performing realty stocks of the day.

The strong buying momentum came after Omaxe unveiled a dedicated hospitality vertical that plans to develop 19 hotels across multiple Indian cities over the next four to five years.

Omaxe Plans 19 Hotels Across 5 States

According to the company, the upcoming hospitality portfolio will cover nearly 5 million square feet and target multiple tourism and travel segments including:

  • Leisure tourism
  • Religious tourism
  • Business travel
  • Destination weddings
  • MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions)

The company said most of the planned hotel projects will be located in high-growth and high-footfall destinations.

Out of the proposed 19 hotels:

  • 12 hotels will come up in Uttar Pradesh
  • Additional projects are planned in New Delhi, Faridabad and Ujjain
  • Four more hotels are expected across Chandigarh, Amritsar and Ludhiana

Major religious and tourism hubs like Ayodhya, Vrindavan and Prayagraj are also part of the expansion strategy.

Big Focus on Religious and Transit Tourism

One of the biggest highlights of the announcement is Omaxe’s aggressive focus on religious tourism, a segment that has seen strong growth over the last few years.

The company also plans to develop transit-oriented hospitality infrastructure through its partnership projects with the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC).

Among the marquee projects is a 158-key Gateway Hotel by Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) at The Omaxe State in New Delhi. The integrated destination project is being developed in partnership with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).

Omaxe Targets ₹1,000 Crore Annual Revenue

The company expects the hospitality business to generate nearly ₹1,000 crore in annual revenue once operations stabilize.

Omaxe also confirmed that discussions are currently underway with several domestic and international hotel operators for branding and management partnerships.

The hospitality portfolio will include:

  • Mid-scale branded hotels
  • Luxury and premium properties
  • Pilgrimage-focused hotels
  • Serviced apartments and extended-stay studios

Management stated that every project will be designed according to the tourism demand and market potential of its location.

Why Investors Are Suddenly Watching Omaxe Stock

The hospitality expansion announcement has significantly changed market sentiment around Omaxe stock.

Investors are viewing the move as a long-term diversification strategy that could reduce dependence on traditional residential real estate and help the company benefit from India’s rapidly growing tourism and hospitality sector.

The strong rally also reflects growing optimism around:

  • Religious tourism growth
  • Infrastructure-led travel demand
  • Hotel industry expansion in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities
  • Government-backed tourism development projects

At around 12:33 PM, Omaxe shares were trading near ₹91.75, up more than 18% on the NSE.

Final Take

Omaxe’s entry into the hospitality business marks one of the company’s biggest expansion announcements in recent years. The scale of the ₹6,200 crore investment plan clearly signals aggressive long-term ambitions in India’s booming tourism and hotel industry.

If execution remains strong and tourism demand continues rising, the new hospitality vertical could become a major growth engine for the company over the coming years.
