Puravankara shares moved sharply higher on Monday after the company announced a new residential development agreement in Bengaluru. The stock climbed nearly 5% during intraday trade, bringing fresh attention to the real estate player at a time when investors are closely tracking recovery in the property sector.
The Bengaluru-based developer has signed a joint development agreement (JDA) for a 6.4-acre land parcel in Sarjapur. The upcoming residential project is expected to generate around ₹1,000 crore in gross development value (GDV).
Following the announcement, the stock touched an intraday high of ₹222.90 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Bengaluru Expansion Strategy Gets Stronger
The latest deal adds another important project to Puravankara’s growing Bengaluru pipeline. Sarjapur has rapidly emerged as one of the city’s most active residential corridors because of strong IT employment, expanding infrastructure, and rising housing demand.
Managing Director Ashish Puravankara said the company continues to focus on locations that offer long-term demand visibility and strong value creation opportunities.
With this agreement, Puravankara’s total acquisitions and JDAs announced during Q1 FY27 have now reached nearly ₹5,200 crore in potential development value.
CEO Mallanna Sasalu highlighted that the company has already completed four land transactions in the first quarter itself, signaling aggressive expansion plans despite volatility in the broader market.
Strong Earnings Recovery Supporting Sentiment
Apart from the new project announcement, investor confidence has also improved because of the company’s strong financial turnaround in FY26.
In the March quarter, Puravankara reported a massive jump in revenue to ₹1,541 crore, compared to ₹542 crore in the same period last year. The rise was mainly driven by higher delivery of residential units.
The company also returned to profitability during the quarter by posting a net profit of ₹117 crore. In the corresponding quarter of the previous year, it had reported a net loss of ₹111 crore.
For the full financial year FY26:
- Revenue rose to ₹3,740 crore
- Net profit stood at ₹57 crore
- FY25 had ended with a loss of ₹183 crore
This sharp improvement in earnings has started changing market sentiment around the stock.
Stock Still Under Pressure Despite Today’s Rally
Even after Monday’s rally, Puravankara shares remain under pressure on a longer-term basis.
The stock has declined nearly 10% since the beginning of 2026 and is down around 27% over the last one year. Investors have remained cautious because of weakness in the broader real estate space and profit-booking after earlier rallies.
The stock had touched:
- 52-week high: ₹305 in September 2025
- 52-week low: ₹160.69 in March 2026
As of June 29, 2026, the company’s market capitalisation stands at around ₹5,136 crore.
Why Investors Are Watching Puravankara Again
The latest Bengaluru project shows that Puravankara is continuing to expand aggressively even during uncertain market conditions. Analysts believe sustained project additions, better cash flows, and improving profitability could help the company strengthen its position in the premium housing segment.
However, execution speed, demand sustainability, and interest rate trends will remain key factors for the stock going forward.
